What to Expect from the New VentSpace Video Feature

As a country we have never had a stronger need for mental health services. Nearly 20 percent of U.S. adults struggle with mental health issues and 1 in 12 children have diagnosed anxiety or depression.

The escalation of COVID-19 has taken a toll on the mental health of many. Social distancing regulations, economic volatility, health concerns and the loss of loved ones have increased feelings of anxiety, fear, depression and loneliness—regardless of age, gender or socioeconomic status.

At VentSpace, we believe it is important to raise awareness about mental health issues and discuss the struggles we are all facing during this time. We created our app to be a safe, anonymous place for people to share their thoughts, emotions, struggles, and questions without fear of judgement or rejection.

In light of the events of this year and the increasing popularity of the VentSpace platform, we have decided to expand our app with a new feature that will allow users to share video content in addition to text posts. We hope this feature will make it easier for some users to share by offering an alternative to typing out long posts.

Here are a few things to know about the new video feature:

  • Videos can be posted under any topic, just like text posts.
  • Users will remain anonymous. Our video “blur” feature will protect your privacy as you share.
  • We will maintain our positive community environment and supportive feedback on all posts, including video.

Let us know what you think about the new feature! And Happy New Year from all of us at VentSpace.
